All Change of Ownership for CaravansTV.co.uk and Caravan Channel
ByNew Owners for Caravans TV or are they ?
Since October 2009, the domain name CaravansTV.co.uk has been owned by Chris Gosling – yes you have read this correctly the same person who owns all the domain names of the Caravan Channel or Did ? . . . . . . . More on this later
A lot of Recent Changes
There has been a lot of changes here at Caravans TV, but even bigger changes have recently started to happen to the Caravan Channel, and this has come to light over the last 3 days. We like to keep an open mind as to what is happening, but just recently a lot of changes have been made to the the Caravan Channel that brings us to the conclusion that maybe the Caravan Channel that was operated and owned by Chris Gosling has changed hands or at least all the Ownership of all the domain names.
For those that don’t know, a domain name is the name or names purchased and registered to represent your company and online presence, and this websites domain name is CaravansTV.com,
For some reason back in 2009 and shortly after we announced our presence on the scene, Chris Gosling purchased CaravansTV.co.uk, and if you type in www.caravanstv.co.uk in a web browser you would be re-directed to the Caravan Channels Website.
Now forgive me if i’m wrong, but why would anyone want to own a domain name of another Caravan Show, produced by a totally different owner and producer, other than to direct Caravans TV viewers away or back to the Caravan Channel.
Who Really Owns Caravans TV and the Caravan Channel ?
If we are talking about Caravanstv.co.uk and all the domains of the Caravan Channel – (www.caravanchanel.co.uk, www.caravanchannel.com, www.caravanchannel.tv) Then you would think they were all owned by Chris Gosling, and you would be right, accept in the last 3 days changes have started to be made to all the domain names and the ownership.
Who is Fred Perkins ?
On the 27th November 2010, the ownership of all the domain names for the Caravan Channel have changed to Fred Perkins, so who is Fred Perkins you may ask ?
Fred Perkins – is the founding Chairman and CEO of Information TV, the very same company who operate the Satellite TV station that enables programme makers and businesses to use broadcast television to reach niche audiences.
To find out who owns a domain name is very easy, and to see for yourself the new owners of All the Caravan Channel domains, simply do a search for any domain name at who.is by clicking on this link Who.Is
Caravan Channel Twitter changed names before my eye’s
Now this was the most confusing part, and the thing that got me thinking that the Caravan Channel was no longer owned by Chris Gosling, as earlier today I answered a tweet made by Chris Gosling, and it was sent to Chris Gosling’s twitter account at the Caravan Channel
A few hours later Chris’s name disappeared and was replaced by Mike Buttigieg -
Who is Mike ButtiGieg
He is the Sales Manager of Sneem Marketing who work with Information TV and provide a full service media sales agency that specialises in the niche TV sector. Information TV, have a commercial relationship with Sneem to develop new content and its associated revenues.
The majority of Sneem’s clients are producers of niche and special interest programming who require sponsorship and advertising revenue to sustain their business, but lack the time, resource or expertise to acquire it. Sneem will take a finished programme and sell relevant advertising and sponsorship against it, giving Chris Gosling and the Caravan Channel the revenue streams needed to finance continued production and broadcasting.
Conclusion . . . . .
Although at the time of writing this I cannot be 100% sure, but It could well appear to some people that Chris has given up, sold out or no longer wants to continue with the Caravan Channel, and has handed over all the domain names and production to Information TV, its Directors and Associates.
I’m sure Chris will announce in all good time what is going on, but is not openly spilling the beans at this time.
What do you think ? . . . .Please Leave a comment below !

Perhaps the Caravan Channel might at last get a presenter that makes it worth watching.
I stopped watching it ages ago because it/he was sooooo boring.

Not as boring as Caravans TV – in my opinion of course. Good luck Chris!

Having been mentioned in the above article (and only now aware this site even existed!) I thought I should openly declare myself.
Chris Gosling came to me several years ago with the idea of launching broadcast TV programmes for those interested and involved in caravanning. It’s the hobby/interest of millions, but had scant coverage on broadcast TV (aside from Jeremy Clarkson ridiculing our pursuit).
Chris wasn’t the first to come up with the idea… but the first to get off his backside and make it happen. I encouraged him, and several years later, we have a large and loyal following… and a ‘microchannel’ that has grown from strength to strength, and which works very well for advertisers and sponsors too….who are essential for any venture like this to survive. I take my hat off to Chris for his determination and dedication over the last few years.
Chris, for his own very good reasons, has decided that he wants to take a rest from the onerous obligations of regular TV programme production. We have therefore taken over from Chris the challenge of producing regular programmes of interest to caravanners and others involved in our hobby.
Chris is not leaving us totally, and will be featuring in programmes on an ongoing basis. He’s not ‘giving up’ – but I’ll let him explain in his own good time.
We hope the Caravan Channel TV programmes (and also, by the way, UK Boating, which was also Chris’s brainchild) will continue to develop ( I want them to be weekly!!), meeting the needs and interests of all of us, and at the same time giving advertisers a cost-effective way of reaching a valuable target audience.
We aren’t the BBC, ITV or Channel 4. We’re a small broadcaster who believes that TV doesn’t have to be ‘dumbed down’ entertainment, but can be interesting, informative, useful…. and commercially viable.
We also believe that TV, the internet, hardcopy magazines, IPTV and all the other media can best work TOGETHER, rather than competing with each other. Our clients (such as The Caravan Channel) are living proof that I’m correct!
I welcome any and all constructive comments and suggestions, and promise to try respond personally as best I can.
Now that I know it’s here, I hope also to contribute as a member of CaravansTV.

Thank you Fred for coming on hear and making clear the direction in which the Caravan Channel is heading.
It’s also refreshing to see that you prefer not to hide behind a Pseudonym, and openly discuss or let everyone here know exactly who you are, and what your position is regarding the change over of ownership, and your involvement with the ongoing production of the Caravan Channel, and how Chris Gosling will continue to be involved.
As you have subscribed as a member to Caravans TV, may I welcome you in joining our growing community of Caravan and Motor Home Owners.

Well, I received an unsolicited email regarding this and a link to this page, having read it and Chris’s post on CT2, plus Fred’s ‘comment’ …. good luck, doubt though you’ll need it!
As regards the .co.uk ownership of caravanstv, I’ve heard of this before and of the bad feeling it causes, perhaps then, this is the time to put that domain into the correct ownership…in the interests of ‘all working together’

In reply to the comment by Al Haze (if that is a real name) why do you think you have the right to make such an arrogant and rude statement about this website/show, if you can do any better, then lets see it ?
Trying to excuse yourself by saying “in my opinion” just shouts out to me that your opinions don’t matter to anyone other than yourself, and should not be shared with the rest of us who do like what caravanstv has to offer.

I agree with Caroline, well done to Chris, the shows may not be as polished as some but then im sure the budget isn’t very high! We always watch them (shame they are not weekly) and enjoy them. Also love UK boating, we have a caravan and have also owned a few boats ,all small river cruisers and the only other boating shows only ever show narrow boats so well done again to Chris, sure he will be missed by us all.
