Are You Getting Away For This Winter Season

Getting away in the caravan or tent for the winter season has always been something i tend to leave to others, with the caravan tucked away and wrapped up for the inevitable snow that always arrives every year. But for many,

 the allure of getting out in the  quite of the countryside, even in the winter months, is becoming very popular. As many of us have to tighten their belts in this time of financial uncertainty, the Great British Holiday is having some what of a revival. With great winter price savings to be had, it’s not surprising that more and more caravanner’s are taking the plunge and are going away for Christmas and the new year. With an increase in the caravan club sites staying open over the Christmas period, it’s not surprising that the caravan club has reported an increase of 48% on this time last year.

Even retail outlets such as Halfords have reported and increase in sales for this time of year, with sales increases in the camping accessories department, such as sleeping bags and and air beds. I guess it’s all down to the fact that people will try and get away more in this country instead of going abroad, and the cheepness of the equipment they need to buy far out ways the cost of flights and accommodation abroad

For me, it’s still going to be the comfort of home and all the trappings, but if your prepared to cope with the cold and wet weather, i’m sure you can equally enjoy the festive fun where ever you are, and what a great way to spend time with your family . . . . and that’s what christmas should be all about really !

We had a great Christmas this year, and invited everyone who wanted to come, the festivities, the lights . .. Talking of which !
