The novice caravan owner, will load their caravan with justtowing-demo about every thing they want to take on holiday, with little consideration or thought, and not realising why it is so important to have the weight distributed correctly to prevent problems.

BEWARE : This Can be Extremely Dangerous

 

At first everything seams to be OK, Towing a caravan is not as hard to do as they first thought, that is until a certain speed is reached and you find yourself in a very dangerous situation.

There has been some Research by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath in partnership with Bailey of Bristol.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath has been involved in caravan stability research for nearly twenty years and is now regarded by many within the industry as the foremost independent authority on this subject.

The joint sponsorship by Bailey Caravans and The Caravan Club, has enabled the design and development of a sophisticated reconfigurable test trailer which has been used extensively to investigate how aspects of a caravan affect the stability of the system
