A Christmas Success Story- So we Celebrated
ByWith only 2 shows currently online, Lee Jones, one of the Show Presenters, happily announced that the response to these first shows has been phenomenal, and to celebrate, everyone who was involved with the making of CaravansTV, are invited along with their families, to celebrate a traditional Christmas at his home.
These weekly TV Style shows have been in the planning stages for many months before the first episode went out. The first of which, went out on the 10th of December 2009 a little later than scheduled by two weeks and appeared online 2.5 minutes later than advertised, but this was soon rectified and the viewers that were waiting patiently for the launch, soon realised it was worth the wait. The second show was produced and online precisely at 8:30pm on Thursday 17th December
“I really enjoyed it. It did what it said it would do without the “padding” that is used elsewhere to make a program stretch to half an hour”
“Have just watched both episodes and have to say it’s great to see this approach and the use of new media”
“It was Great, keep up the good work”
“Watched the show right through – brilliant presentation, you worked very hard on that, well done”
Just some of the many comments we received Immediately this first show went out. Surprisingly, it had hundreds of viewers, and the second episode had more than double the viewers the first episode got, this proved to be a good indication that we may have got things right with the majority of our viewers, who evedently were prepared to favourably comment and come back for more.
Lee Jones, Show Producer and Presenter Say’s – “It was hard work to get to where we are today, building every part of the website and online show, single handed, was going to be a massive endeavor- a lot of planning has gone into making this program, and one that will be very different from anything else previously seen”. . . . . . . .
Lee Added, it was a big gamble to bring a new TV show to audiences in the middle of the biggest recession we have ever known. I have always tried to stand out from the crowd, and not just take the easy route of simply filming the latest caravan on sale or about to be released.
By producing and marketing everything myself, including the Website, Graphics, Filming and Post Production editing, this would be the biggest unpaid project I have ever attempted, and so far loving every minute of it !.” . . . . .
” I still have a lot more to learn, new techniques and methods of production, it can only get better “
By approaching the Camping and Caravan Scene from such an acute angle, I knew that some viewers would not like this style of presentation. Even So, it has become apparently obvious that the way we do things, the content we produce, and the style in which we deliver it, both on the website and the show is having a dramatic influence on the way others are going to be doing things in the future. Sometimes change can be good for everyone!
I knew that attempting something radical as this was not going to be easy, and I also knew that some of the shows content would not be to everyone’s taste!……..Thankfully, the majority of our Camping and Caravan Viewers have responded very favourably to this new approach, and have become members of the site. I will be doing everything I can over the next episodes to build and improve upon what I have done so far.
Our editorial news and supplementary videos in the members section, together with the already planned shows that will take us well into next year, and hopefully we will continue to see our audience numbers grow exponentially . . . . I know it’s going to be an uphill struggle, and a little tough at times to get this to where I want it to be, but that’s all part of the fun of it.
When CaravansTV was in the planning stages, I decided not to charge anyone to view our show, and sponsorship would be the best way to finance the expensive production costs – Our sponsors have happily agreed with the format we have adopted, and they have reported an increase in their website activity, which is excellent news, but it’s still early days, and with the continued support of our sponsors, I am encouraged to continue with the show indefinitely, and have even bigger plans for next year, especially as I have now proof that our viewing numbers are increasing on a daily basis.
I would like to personally thank all of you that have written to me with your kind words and well wishes, and would like to hear your suggestions as to how you feel I can improve the shows content, and let us know what you want to see . . . . so, please do come up and say hello when ever you see us on campsites and at caravan/camping shows we attend next year . . .
I am realistic in the fact that I will never please everyone all of the time, but I will be striving to bring you a quality show and build up a collection of information that can be accessed at anytime by everyone, it’s a major job, and one that cannot be accomplished in just a few shows or weeks, so please bear with us.
We have a lot more to come, and when the weather gets better we can assure you, we will be doing our best to bring you stuff you won’t find anywhere else. Just keep in mind we do this freely for your benefit, and nothing more !
Seasonal Best wishes to all of you, and hope you will be happy and healthy for many years to come.

Hi
I watched the first show last friday, and liked the way that you have made it different from anything i have seen.
Also think it’s cool you now have a lady presenter on the show, us girls are left out a bit by what is mainly a male scene, but we love camping just as much as the guy’s.
merry Christmas to everyone, and hope the show goes well
